Use Fiddler to intercept the request and see for 1 yourself.

It varies, especially when it comes to GET queries 5 or POST requests, but I'd estimate it about 4 0.5—1k.

Requesting a page from the browser, though, may 3 also result in requesting pictures, stylesheets 2 and other referenced content.
